My match against a seeded player (again!)
Well, here it is… second ITF tournament, I arrive motivated, racket ready, smile on my face… and bam: I’m facing another seeded player! After the number 1 last time, this time it was the number 8. Seriously, what’s this karma?
But you know what? I told myself: stop complaining. Because in reality, it’s a chance. Yeah, a real one. Playing against the best is like seeing a level you can’t invent. It pushes you, it shows you what intensity is, what real tennis is.
So yeah, I lost 6/1 6/0. But I didn’t lose for nothing. I lost with a smile on my face, because I played a game that really put me in a good position. A game that gives me confidence. I hit hard, I ran everywhere, I tried things… and most importantly: I learned.
And you know what was really cool at the end? I got to talk with her, the experienced player who was older than me. She shared a few things with me, and honestly… it opened my eyes. I understood that you shouldn’t just look at what’s happening today, right now. You have to look further ahead. Have a vision, a plan, a desire that goes beyond the small defeat of the moment.
I don’t want to stay stuck on a lost match. I want to grow from it. I want to improve, learn, progress. And for that, you have to face the best, again and again.
So yeah, today I didn’t win on the scoreboard. But in my head, it’s a victory. And the next match? I’ll arrive even more ready. #heatanui #ITFJunior #wearetennis #togetherfortennis #tennisfiji #TennisLife #tennislove #TennisClubPaita #tcpaita #aventuretennis
